DITL 6/11/11 - San Francisco, Treasure Island, Pacifica Beach

Last weekend BF, baby and I went on a family outing.  We drove through San Francisco a little to get on the Bay Bridge, which was backed up because a man pulled his car over, got out and threatened to jump.  Eventually authorities were able to apprehend him and the man and his vehicle were removed from the bridge, hours later all the routes to the bridge were still backed up.
*Tons of photos in this blog post, if you wanna skip them, you can watch my vlog here:

This is BF :)  I think he's handsome, lol

I thought this house was so uniquely painted, green with black trim

Posting a Face Of The Day [FOTD] for my Tumblr while in SF traffic

Here's our little girl, Madilyn, super cute huh? :)

Finally made it to the bridge!

Halfway on the Bay Bridge, we got off at Treasure Island to see the shore line.  The winds were so strong that I could barely open the car door to step out.  While trying to snap photos and film, the winds were pushing me back, it was intense, but so amazing!

We also got to see the new portion of the Bay Bridge which is currently under construction, I thought this was exciting because it's not often you see a bridge being built.

We had planned to visit this hot dog vendor and get a couple Polish dogs - SO yummy!

After our lunch, we drove around the island for a bit and saw some historical buildings.  On our way off the island we saw this 40' dancing woman, Bliss Dance.

We got back onto the Bay Bridge and headed into San Francisco on our way to Pacifica Beach.

At the beginning of this year we had visited Pacifica a few times debating if we wanted to rent an apartment there, right on the ocean.  We ended up not moving to Pacifica, but it is still a nice town to drive through, especially to walk along the beach and down the pier.
We had to feed the baby dinner at this point, she was so excited to finally get out of her car seat!
We walked along the shore line, then headed down the pier where people were fishing and catching some crab.  Once out at the end of the pier, it's breath taking to see the open ocean ahead of you, then to turn around and see the foggy hills of Pacifica.

Heading back to the car, there's a flag pole which was at half-mast in honor of the San Francisco firefighters that passed away recently.

On our way home we stopped by the post-pipeline-explosion in San Bruno.  It was shocking to see just how big the area is that was ruined by the fire.  We had a sullen moment because we had been looking into moving to this area last year, actually a month or so before the explosion happened.

At the end of the day, we had a great family outing.  Baby was definitely happy to be home and went to bed right away.
We enjoy driving up and down the coast line and finding new places.  So be prepared to explore the San Francisco peninsula and CA Bay Area with us!

oxoxo,
Krystal
