DITL 8/18 - 8/20 domestic chores, prenatal appt, exercise, Madilyn footage

I've had a few SAHM (Stay At Home Mothers) ask for DITL (Day In The Life) videos from me, but to be honest, all I do is chores and baby time all day and night - nothing glamorous!  :)
So over a few days I filmed my routines and some random Madilyn footage to compile my pretty normal routines as a SAHM

Prenatal Checkup and This Week's Activities

Currently I am 11 weeks pregnant and still in the first trimester

Thursday I had a prenatal checkup with my new OB/GYN doctor at the new facility near my apartment.  First off, it was a stressful trip there because I had to pack up Madilyn, her carrier, her stroller and her bag into my tiny two door Beetle, which took forever because the stroller is too big for my car.  Then once I was at Kaiser, I had to get everything out of the car... so needless to say my blood pressure was a bit high when I finally go upstairs for my checkup.  I weighed in at 185lbs, one pound less than the last visit (trying to walk weekly and eat healthier so I'm more fit for this pregnancy) so I was happy about that.  I got to hear Muffin's heartbeat, beating strong and healthy!  After the checkup, I headed downstairs to get my blood drawn while Madilyn entertained the Kaiser staff with her babbles and toys.

The nausea has finally disappeared, but now I'm feeling super tired and I even find myself dozing off during the afternoons while trying to play with Madilyn.  I guess it's more tiring to be pregnant with a baby to take care of than to be pregnant alone.  My first pregnancy, I didn't feel tired until late into the second trimester - I'm barely hitting the second trimester now!  I'm not the kind of person to nap during the day, so to gain a bit more energy I've been taking on more chores around the apartment and taking walks every so often.

I've been so busy that I haven't even been able to look at my beauty blog :( Oh, how I miss it so!  But I think my pregnancy, baby, chores and healthier lifestyle is a bit more important that makeup and tutorials, right?  So, to fill in the gaps of not blogging much, I've been filming some day-in-the-life bits to compile on my personal youtube channel.  It's mostly just errands, feeding Madilyn, chores and rambles but I've been getting a few people asking for videos on what I do in my day/night as a stay at home mom.  I guess they just don't believe I can have a busy day doing domestic work, lol!

Well, I gotta go play with Madilyn now... she's been taking 1 hour naps recently so I only get enough time to shower and eat until she needs to be entertained again.  Here's Madilyn's updates in photos:
Madilyn loves to go to the store with us, here she's buying her baby food and some snacks

On good days, she passes out from too much fun and laughter :) aww!

She likes to climb underneath her activity saucer and try to stand up through the seat area, it's hilarious watching her try to see through the leg holes!! LOL

She's been helping with the laundry, protecting the hampers and the tv remote :)

Burrito In A Bowl

Earlier this week BF and I made burritos at home and we were left with a ton of left overs!  I love left overs, I love mixing different things together and making some yummy "stuff".  I'm beginning to feel a bit more normal, less nauseous, so I've been slightly obsessed with making a burrito bowl everyday.  I know, it looks awful and not appetizing at all, but this dish has me salivating just uploading the photo on here :)

I mixed spanish rice with diced tomatoes and jalapenos, taco seasoned ground beef, re-fried beans, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, sour cream and topped it off with some Pico Pica hot sauce.
OhMyGoodness, I'm in love with this bowl of mush!!

Sunday, Monday + an update

This Sunday we went to Salinas, CA to visit my BF's family and to celebrate his sister's birthday with good food and a delicious cake!  Unfortunately I didn't snap photos of the food, but trust me it was scrumptious!
I did film a bit on Sunday because we decided to take a different route to Salinas and go through Santa Cruz.  The scenery was gorgeous!

Monday my BF didn't feel well, plus I still had a lingering migraine, so it was a stay at home and relax day for us.  Madilyn loved having Michael home all day, and she kept climbing all over him and laying on top of him while playing with her toys, it was adorable :)

As far as an update on Muffin aka my pregnancy, I'm still nauseous every day and have had a migraine since Sunday afternoon, but I hope the migraine might be leaving soon.  There's nothing more uncomfortable than having to function with a migraine, especially when you need to act happy and excited while you play all day with a baby :(
I'm about 10 weeks along now, and I can feel that my pelvic area has swelled.  Similar to last year, it's becoming very uncomfortable to sit forward.  My torso is really short so when something shifts or in this case swells, I feel the difference a lot.  I'm not showing, but internally I feel it progressing.  So far everything seems to be going well, I have a prenatal appointment coming up next week, I think this one is only a check up and blood draw for tests.

I'm hoping I feel better soon because I really do miss my beauty blog, and socializing online.  I'm anxious to get back into the swing of beauty again :)

A Day At The Park

Today is such a gorgeous day, so after Madilyn tried to crawl her way out the front door (don't worry, she was supervised the entire time) and sat in the sun for a few minutes right outside the door, we decided to visit our local park.  It's a beautiful park, right near the water and the breeze that comes through is just perfect.  Madilyn was on the baby swing set for a long time, she loved the air hitting her face.  Then we sat on the grass and watched the men play soccer.  She loves watching sports, so she was all excited to see them running around out there!

A Look Back: Pregnant with Madilyn

Last year I had so much fun being pregnant with our little Madilyn! I even photographed the progression of my belly growing to look back at in awe. After chatting a bit on my last post with Lisette, I decided to post my belly photos from last year. I'm probably not going to start my belly photos this year until much later because I still have my baby weight from Madilyn and it won't show for a bit anyways :)

For reference, I started my pregnancy at 150lbs, and ended it at 206lbs! Crazy huh?! Sadly, I'm only at 186lbs now, but I'm still trying to stay active to lose the excess weight I'm carrying around. Don't freak out - it's not a diet, it's just being health and active as much as possible. I'll touch more on that later... now for some pregnant belly photos from last year!
(The last photo was actually taken the day before Madilyn was born)

First Trimester: Morning Sickness Remedies

I've been feeling pretty nauseous lately, but not to the point of vomiting - so it's been a tiring few weeks.  To help my tummy feel better so I can move on with my day, I've been addicted to a few items that really help me feel healthy again.

First off, as far as prenatal vitamins, I've been using the Safeway brand prenatal vitamins, which I'm not really liking and might be looking for a different brand soon.

Altoids mints in Peppermint - I've been keeping this tin on my bedside night stand and it's soothing to have a half mint at night and a half mint in the morning. They are strong so I don't normally have more than one a day.

Tic Tac Freshmints - I have these near me at all times, they really help my tummy to calm down, plus I love the sweetness of them when you first pop one in your mouth, almost like candy :)

Ginger Ale, sugar free or original - I love this soda so much I can't imagine pregnancy without it! Ginger Ale is always known for calming upset stomachs, and during pregnancy it's a great remedy because it's caffeine free and you can get the sugar free kind too. In a bottle or a can, it's a must-have for my fridge!
