If you follow my on InstaGram (user: BeautyByKrystal), then you are aware that I am making changes to my food choices. I'm not trying to lose weight right now since I'm still BFing Jamison and I want to keep all the calories I'm taking in. I do want to make smarter choices in our diet. I always make sure Madilyn eats healthy, fresh food - but I have a bad habit of taking the easy route with my diet. I thought it'd be fun to share my monthly food favorites and explain what foods I'm cutting out and how they are being replaced.
First off, I am cutting out soda - at one point I was having 1-4 cans of soda a day. It wasn't even for the flavors, I am a bubble addict. Now I'm drinking sparkling water, the Refreshe brand, which is water and "natural flavors" - there's basically zero of everything in this! haha! So far I have been enjoying the sparkling waters, they are lightly sweet and come in fruity flavors. Having no soda this whole month has made me feel sooo good! I have more energy and I'm not feeling drowsy in the afternoon, which means I'm not as cranky from my go-go-go days with the kids.
I love coffee, and I've been really enjoying Yuban Pacific Coast Blend
Speaking of coffee, my current creamer is Lucerne Italian Sweet Cream. I LOVE THIS STUFF! It's sweet, creamy and doesn't taste "fake" like a lot of creamers can - I'm still trying to perfect the amount of creamer I use, light or heavy handed it always tastes good.
For lunch/snacks and sometimes dinner, I'm cutting out frozen foods and junk foods for these Signature Cafe refrigerated meals/appetizers. These are WAY healthier than the frozen foods we were buying (like hot pockets, burritos, etc.) and they taste sooo good! My favorites are Beef Tamale Pie and Baked Mac & Cheese, oh and the BBQ Ribs are good too.
Lastly, this isn't a healthier choice, but it's still delicious and a favorite. Michael picked up this Cookie Butter from Trader Joe's and it's so freaking good - oh my god! It's really heavy and intensely sweet, but it's good as a little sweet snack on crackers or a waffle or something like that.
